I couldn't bring everything I would need for a year. One thing I left behind was my tripod. The casual photographer may not realize how key a tripod is for macrophotography, but for me it is essential. I finally bought one here, much better than my old one, lighter, more compact, and more rigid, so less chance of unwanted camera movement, and easier to carry around. These flowers are from the genus Nigella. Susan bought these around the corner. August 6: Susan reminded me that these flowers are commonly called Love-in-a-Mist.
